Put the widget on your home screen and the next thing you have to do is just there, in plain type, every time you pick up your phone.
Type a task into the field at the top. Swipe right to check it off, drag to reorder, and it drops into Completed. That is the whole app.

Six colour themes ship with it, plus a dark mode, so the widget sits on your home screen without looking like someone else’s app. Reminders are there if you want a nudge, and off if you don’t.
The whole download is 2 MB. It works offline and collects nothing.
What’s inside
One honest limit: Next Task is deliberately thin. There are no projects, sub-tasks, or recurring items, so if you run your week out of a proper system it will not replace it. It is for the short list you actually need to see today.
It also needs iOS 17.6, which is newer than the rest of our apps require, because the interactive widget depends on it.
